Devoq, published by Avivoq (Québec, Canada). Last updated: July 2026.
The short version. We collect what the app needs to write your quotes and nothing else. We do not sell personal information and we do not run advertising. Your recordings are sent to specialized providers to be turned into text, your business data is stored in Canada, and you can ask us to delete all of it. Devoq also contributes anonymized figures to a regional price benchmark, grouped by the first three characters of a postal code and never carrying a name. That contribution is on by default and you can switch it off in your Profile at any time, at no cost to you. Section 5 explains exactly what goes in and what never does.
Two kinds of information, gathered for two different reasons.
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Your phone number | To sign you in. It is your account identifier. |
| Your business profile: name, business name, address, trade, licence number, payment terms, logo | To print your identity on every quote and invoice. |
| Voice recordings you make | To turn spoken words into a quote or a client record. |
| Client details you enter: names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, postal codes | To address quotes and invoices, and to group your results by area. |
| Quotes, invoices, payments, job photos | They are the documents the app exists to produce. |
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Text produced from your recordings, and the structured line items drawn from it | It is the draft quote you then review. |
| Technical records: errors, delivery status of a document, timestamps | To keep the service working and to answer you when something fails. |
We do not collect your location, your contact list, your calendar, or anything you have not entered into the app. There is no advertising identifier and no third-party analytics tracker in Devoq.
Collection and storage are separate questions, so here is storage on its own.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Where | Your account data, documents, photos and recordings are held by Supabase, our hosting and database provider, in its Canadian region. |
| Separation | Every table carries access rules enforced by the database itself, so one account cannot read another account's rows. Inside an organization, you see only what your role allows. |
| In transit | Encrypted over HTTPS between your phone and our servers, and between our servers and every provider listed below. |
| At rest | Encrypted by the hosting provider on its storage volumes. |
| How long | For as long as your account is open. Ask us to delete it and we do, apart from anything we must legally retain. Delete your account and the associated data goes with it. |
| Backups | The hosting provider keeps rolling backups for disaster recovery. Deleted material disappears from those in the normal rotation. |
Turning speech into a written quote is not something a phone does alone. These companies process data on our instructions, for that purpose only, and are not permitted to use it for their own ends.
| Provider | What it receives | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Groq, Together AI, Deepgram | The audio you recorded | Converts speech to text. We try them in order so a single outage does not stop your work. |
| Groq, Together AI | The transcribed text | Sorts it into line items, quantities and prices. |
| Supabase | Your account and documents | Hosting, database and file storage. |
To run the service and nothing more: sign you in, transcribe and structure your recordings, calculate taxes, generate PDFs, deliver the documents you choose to send, remind you about quotes and invoices that need chasing, and show you your own figures. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use your quotes to build products for anyone else.
The Insights tab is built only from your own quotes, invoices and payments. Nobody else sees it, and it is never combined with another business's private numbers.
Devoq contributes anonymized, aggregated figures to a shared benchmark so that every tradesperson can tell whether a price sits above or below the going rate in the area. This contribution is on by default, it is disclosed when you create your account, and you can switch it off at any time in your Profile.
| What goes into the benchmark | What never goes in |
|---|---|
| The job type, the amount, the date, whether the quote was won or lost, the materials-to-labour split, and the first three characters of the client's postal code (the forward sortation area, such as H2X or J7K). | Your name or business name. Your clients' names, street addresses, phone numbers or emails. The text of your quotes. Your photos. Your logo. Anything that identifies a person or a company. |
Three characters of a postal code cover a whole district, often tens of thousands of addresses, so a figure cannot be traced back to one job or one customer. On top of that, a benchmark is published for a given period, area, trade and job type only when enough separate businesses contributed to it that no single one can be picked out of the result. Combinations that are too thin are simply not published.
Money and data are never traded against each other here. Switching the contribution off does not change your price, does not remove features you paid for, and does not degrade the app. You lose only the comparison against your region, because you are no longer part of the pool that produces it.
Once anonymized and aggregated to that standard, benchmark data may also be provided to third parties such as suppliers, distributors or manufacturers who want to understand regional demand. What leaves us in that case is statistics by area, trade and period. It contains no personal information, no customer records and nothing attributable to your business.
Three cases, and no others. To the providers in section 3, so the app can function. To the recipient you choose when you send a quote or an invoice. And where the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and Québec's Law 25, you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, obtain a copy in a portable format, or withdraw a consent you previously gave.
